To experiment I found some pictures of old and new windows because I can show this easily through windows. I used tracing paper, like Silverwood, to trace the windows. I traced them so I could use Silverwoods method and so I can put pictures of other windows behind it. This made it more realistic as when you look out of a window in the city there is bound to be another building opposite you.
Cutting out three buildings from black card and then putting some of the tracings of windows behind it. I also put some pictures of windows, which I printed out on tracing paper, behind the drawn windows. I did this so it looks like there are actual buildings in the background. This gave it a translucent effect.

I then went on Photoshop and edited the pictures. I used curves and adjusted the brightness and contrast. This made some of the windows in the back emerge.
